What is Scheduled Cast Post Matric Scholarship Scheme For Government of India 2019-20, Maharashtra?

Tribal Development, Government of India invites students from Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities in Maharashtra to apply for this scholarship programme which provides financial assistance to students for studies after Class 10. The scholarship aims to encourage ST students from financially underprivileged backgrounds for pursuing studies after Class 10 towards higher education.

Who is offering this scholarship ?

Maharashtra Government and Tribal Development Department, Government of India are providing this scholarship to benefit students from Scheduled tribe communities.

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

Students must follow the below mentioned eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship:-

• Only students from Scheduled tribe communities are eligible for this scholarship programme
• Applicant must have passed Class 10
• The annual family income of the applicant must be less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lakhs (2,50,000) per annum
• Any applicant must not have a backdrop of 2 or more years in their formal education
• Students who had received the scholarship last year must apply for renewal of the scholarship to receive continued financial assistance

What are the benefits ?

Selected students for this scholarship programme will receive the following benefits:-

For Hostellers/Day Scholars award will be given in groups:

1. Group 1: INR 550 to 1200
2. Group 2: INR 530 to 820
3. Group 3: INR 300 to 570
4. Group 4: INR 230 to 380

• Additional to this Reader Allowance will also be given:

1. Group1-2: INR 240
2. Group 3: INR 200
3. Group 4: INR 160

• Escort Allowance: INR 160 per month.
• Special Pay: INR 160
• For Mentally retired, extra coaching: INR 240 per month
• Study Tours: INR 1600 per annum
• Thesis Typing/Printing: INR 1600 per annum
• Book Grant: INR 1200 per annum

Follow the below-given steps to apply for the scholarship -

Step 1: Click here to visit the MahaDBT portal.

Step 2: Click on 'New Applicant Registration'.

Step 3: Fill in all required details, verify the email and the phone number and register.

Step 4: Complete the Aadhaar authentication process either through OTP or biometric.

Step 5: The candidates will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number if they opt for OTP authentication.

Step 6: Complete the registration process by filling in all the required details.

Step 7: Log in using the username and password.

Step 8: Complete the scholarship application, upload necessary documents and submit.
